"Has This Ever Happened To You?" stands in the under appreciated tradition of the "odds n' sods" album: VU, What To Do About Them, Cyborgs Revisited; a collection of songs that were assembled from various sessions after the fact. Olympia WA's Special Moves has thus far been a one person operation, at least on record, while recruiting friends to fill out the live set. Here, however, sessions are collected that feature Shayla Riggs from Yeehaw Junction on lead vocals, recorded at the start of both bands' west coast tour, and Alexandria Grace Vickery taking the lead on "The Rope". Also included are a series of Weakerthans covers, an instrumental track, and the lo-fi hit "Smoothies & Taboo". Josh has had an incredibly prolific output over the past few decades (the most recent of which can be found on his own Reflective Tapes label), and anyone who is a fan of the messy, heartfelt, and incredibly catchy records of bands like Butterglory, Times New Viking, or Portastatic will absolutely love this record.
